Dr. Mario Venegas, a torture survivor and human rights activist from Chile, stands up to tell his harrowing personal story, bringing the crowd to a hush. He then eloquently relates his own trauma to Sonia Reich’s, comparing how these two individuals have tried to cope with the terrible events they experienced. Dr. Venegas’ story later is told in the documentary film “Beneath the Blindfold.”
