Westview Hills Middle School

In a remarkably well-designed program for middle school students, teachers at Westview Hills Middle School have built an all-morning session for a couple hundred students. Rather than ask the children to watch “Prisoner of Her Past” straight through, the teachers have divided the film into three, 20-minute segments. After watching each portion, the teachers discuss with students what happened in the film and ask them to write down their impressions. Once they’ve made their way through the entire film, Howard Reich is invited to come to the front of the auditorium and field questions, which run for roughly an hour – and easily could have gone longer.
